The SK-8 Fully-Automatic Self-Retracting Safety Knife combines safety, comfort and durability. With its metal-reinforced rounded head and non-slip, ergonomic handle, the knife's robust construction and design ensure optimal performance and efficiency. These characteristics make it ideal for opening cartons and cutting corrugate, packaging, film, trimmings, shrink wrap and strapping.
Equipped with a versatile and user-friendly large blade slider that when pushed forward, exposes the spring-activated, premium carbon tool steel blade. When it meets the intended cutting surface, the dual-edged blade, which is tightly housed in a stainless steel channel, securely locks in place and effortlessly cuts up to 0.59 inches (15 mm) in depth. A fail-safe, rustproof mechanism that cannot be overridden manually ensures that the blade retracts automatically the instant it loses contact with the surface, even while the slider is in operation. This feature provides additional protection against injuries and increases productivity.
Safely replacing the blade is a cinch and no tools are required. To convert the knife for right- or left-handed use, simply flip the blade 180 degrees as applicable. A convenient lanyard hole provides easy access.
